I've never been one to make a New Year's Resolution

I just don't like the idea of making new goals at the start of a new year. I mean, I make goals and lists all year long! I am the queen of goals/tasks. But my friend posted on her blog about what she did at her bible study; how they each picked a word for this year. Hers was COURAGE and it's perfect for her. It made me think about what my word for be. So in the 5 mins I thought about it, here's what I responded to her post:

I could use a lot of words, but I guess I'll say OPENNESS. (did I spell that right?) This year in particular I have to be open to what God has for us. OPEN to whoever he has for our family via adoption, OPEN to whatever house we live in (praying we get to move into a bigger place), OPEN to filling the needs Len has in needing a support partner to get his business off the ground, OPEN to selling my sweet car if need be to get a bigger car, OPEN to working a lot more hours, OPEN to new friendships (via the adoption community at church), OPEN to a different lifestyle so we can afford a bigger house, OPEN mind for Ry's schooling this fall... yeah, if I'm not open, there's a lot of little places Satan could try to steal my joy, hope, and contentment. I choose to be joyful, by being open to God, this year!
